Vintage Design
This pair of Art Nouveau chairs, made by Thonet in the early 20th century, is signed under the seat with a stamp and label. The chairs are designed in bent beech wood, with a pressed wood seat and back. Dimensions are as follows: total height 91.5 cm, seat height 47 cm, seat width 40.5 cm and seat depth 41 cm. These chairs are in good, stable and solid condition.
Thonet, founded by Michael Thonet in 1819, is an Austrian company renowned for its bentwood furniture. A pioneer in the use of this technique, Thonet revolutionized furniture manufacturing in the 19th century. Their creations, notably the chairs, have become design icons and remain highly prized by collectors and lovers of antique furniture.
