Coupe Floor Lamp by Joe Colombo for Oluce, 1960s

The Coupé series, designed by Joe Colombo, was initially designed as a variant of the Spider family, daughter of the same designer, whose base and the rod. The simple and ingenious mechanism that connects the head to the base makes it possible to direct the light beam in different directions, by moving the lampshade up, the bottom and the side. In 1968, the coupe obtained the “international design award” of the American Institute of Interior Designers, in Chicago. He is part of the MoMA permanent collection in New York and the “Neue Sammlung” museum in Munich.
The structure is made up of a white metal base with a semicircle base to stick the lamp against a wall. The chromed metal arc is adjustable in height and can run at 180 ° to light the chosen area.
