Danish Modern Mahogany Cowhorn Chairs 1940s, Set of 6.
Early Scandinavian Mid-century modern cow horn dining chairs in solid mahogany made in Denmark. Sculptural backrests with beautiful lines. The lines of the armrests resembles those of the horn of a bull, hence the name. Round tapered legs. Seats upholstered in green velvet.
Impressive craftsmanship with beautiful joinery details. Very comfortable chairs.
The designer of this chair is unknown, but similar cowhorn chairs of the period are designed by Hans J. Wegner and Knud Færch.
These elegant and organically shaped dining armchairs are in good vintage condition. Small dings to the wood. The vintage velour fabric in dark green is also in good condition. All joints are firm. Ready for use.
