Louis XV work table in marquetry, made in a Parisian workshop in the mid-19th century.
This rare piece of furniture has a top rich in arabesques and volutes, inlaid in a wood veneer arranged in butterfly wings. The center is decorated with a monogrammed brass plaque -RD-. This top opens with two chiseled brass hinges and is held in place by an original compass on the right side. We notice a lock with two hooks in perfect working order accompanied by a carved key. A rectangular mirror surrounded by baguettes is present on the flap. Inside this worker is a sliding drawer, accompanied by a box with three compartments. Once pulled out we also discover an interior.
The front of the drawer, with movement and concave, is inlaid with wood and forms beautiful arabesques.
The bottom of this little worker has a hopper-shaped drawer.
Finally, this table rests on four elegantly curved humped legs, ending in gilded bronze sabots. The two exterior sides on a wood background are inlaid with .
