Vintage Design
Oswald Haerdtl is considered as one of the most influential Austrian Architects of the 20th Century and he designed this now iconic chair simply labelled ‘No. 515’ in 1955.
Haerdtl was a master of proportions. On this chair he created an expressive design form whilst using a minimalist language. Like his architecture, there is a total focus on every detail, for example the hidden screws in the back rest, using the old Thonet bentwood technique and the materiality of the honeycomb colour and texture of the wood. This all makes these chairs as modern and attractive as they were 60 years ago.
Both chairs are in good vintage condition. They have some normal wear and some patina on their surfaces gained from their use over the years.
