Vintage Design
Avant-garde bentwood armchair in both its design and manufacturing. Its lines, both elegant and refined, make it a classic in the history of design. The prominent back and armrests are formed from a single curved frame, made from a single piece of wood. Composed of a round seat in robust canework, this authentic and timeless armchair rests on flared legs. The armchair still has the stamp “Jacob & Josef Kohn, Wien” under the seat.
J. & J. Kohn:
Jacob & Josef Kohn was the first competitor of the Thonet Firm at the beginning of 1900.
The firm hired avant-garde Viennese architects Josef Hoffmann, Sieget and Moser to create attractive modern furniture for a wealthy clientele.
