Vintage Design
Magnificent Italian dining table from the 1950s with a marble top. Design attributed to Vittorio Dassi.
The top is a large rectangular pink marble slab. It has a slightly beveled profile at the bottom to provide greater lightness and also has rounded corners.
The marble leaves all its weight on a structure that ends in two large side pedestals, veneered in palo santo wood and shaped like an inverted “T”, ending in two large brass feet. These curious legs are reinforced by a cylindrical brass pawl.
It is a table influenced by the Empire style, very forceful and elegant.
